There’s a mixture of things that influence the decisions I make, some of them good and some of them I’d honestly like to fix. I’ll go with the ones I want to gain and enhance in this list.
1: patience
2: forgiveness
3: independence
4: financial security
5: empathy
Sometimes I struggle to see the difference between anger and righteous fury in myself. I have faith in my morals and when I see injustice of any kind it really gets to me. This can be good or bad, because standing up for what’s right is noble, but being angry can deter rationality. This is why patience and forgiveness are so important for me to gain and enhance.
The people I hang around most in my life have more of an influence on me than they probably realize. I’ve been picking up mannerisms from people for years without even noticing, and approaching situations with “what would blank do” in the back of my mind. This seems like a common theme among the people I bring it up around. So, here’s a list of people I spend the most time around or talk to the most, and the individual traits I’d give them:
1: My sister—responsibility
2: My mother—assertiveness
3: Carina—sharp wit
4: Ariel—respectfulness
5: Daniel—adaptability
I actually spend the most time with my sister, because I share an apartment with her. She is self-sufficient and independent, and she always thinks things through logically. I wish I was more like her, and hopefully some of her responsibility will rub off on me.
I gained some insight into what makes me tick after writing this down, surprisingly. I thought I had myself pretty well figured-out after living 23 years on this earth, but I suppose there’s always a lot more to learn about yourself than you might realize.
